Ms. Louise Jupp is the Amazon best-selling author of Precision Farming from Above (2018) and editor of the international best-selling ‘Drone Professional’ book series, now in its third edition. She has qualified as a South African Civil Aviation Authority licensed drone pilot and RPL drone instructor. She has a master’s degree in environmental science and has over 29 years’ experience in environmental impact assessment and management in the UK, Europe and across Africa. Louise is the founder of Terreco Aviation (South Africa), a consultancy dedicated to developing the professional use of drone technology in general and in agriculture and sustainable food production. She believes commercial drone systems are fundamental to improving food security and meeting increasing food demand in inherently more environmentally sustainable ways. Louise actively promotes the professional drone industry through books, international speaking, collaborative papers, as an advisor, Industry Awards judge. She has also been a member of several committees and working groups, in South Africa and overseas, that aim to advance the use of drones and associated technology as well as expanding the understanding and growth of the industry. She also spearheaded the establishment of the first international chapter of Women and Drones (USA) in Africa (2021). The aim of Women and Drones Africa is to raise awareness of the roles women fulfil in the African drone industry as well as help inspire and support their greater involvement across Africa.
